For anyone who follows me on Instagram (@tudorblogger) you might have been following my lockdown sewing journey to sew Henry VIII and his Six Wives.
The pattern can be found here – https://smile.amazon.co.uk/DMC-Henry-Stitch-Cotton-Various/dp/B0046AADZ2/
It’s been a bit of a whirlwind with some weeks where I have sewn a lot more than other weeks, depending on what has been going on in my life. It has been a difficult few months, but sewing this project has given me a much-needed distraction and when I get it framed it will look amazing hanging above the desk in my study.

One of the threads on the pattern is the same shape as thread 838 but on the actual thread pattern on the thread holder it shows 310/550 how do I know which to use?

If it shows two colours then you use one strand of each together, so 310 is black and 550 is purple so you’ll use one strand of each together to stitch.

Could you please help me. I’ve come across what looks like a bow tie symbol on the pattern, but there’s no such symbol! It’s either blue or purple! I don’t know what to do now.

It’s a tweeded cross stitch so on page 2 of the pattern it says use 1 strand of each colour 😊
